Skills behind the success: An environment where there is always something new to learn
Anita Ytterhus Aasheim has worked with CRM since 2010, in an environment where there is always something new to learn. Technology continues to evolve, customers bring new challenges and the professional community gives her people to exchange ideas with and learn from.
A professional community that keeps you sharp
It’s really rewarding to work alongside so many talented people and be part of such a strong professional community. I still learn a lot through sparring with colleagues, and new perspectives or solutions often emerge when you build on each other’s different experiences.
Development isn't necessarily about finding somewhere you can learn more of the same. It's about finding people and challenges that challenge the way you already think.
Experience is a starting point - not an endpoint
What continues to challenge me professionally is working on large projects and solving complex problems. Not because everything has to be completely new, but because I enjoy situations where I can apply my experience in different ways.
At Columbus, I have the opportunity to work with customers across different industries and business areas. That means I can use the same skills in completely different contexts, with new people, needs, and challenges.
For me, it's never really about the technology itself, but the value it creates.
The technology is often the same, but the processes and challenges are always different.
Over the years, I've built up a broad repertoire of experiences to draw from, but there's rarely one right answer. Sometimes development means learning something entirely new. Other times, it means looking at a familiar challenge from a different perspective and applying what I already know in a new way.
I think that's what keeps me enjoying what I do. My experience has made me more confident, but it hasn't made the challenges any less interesting.
