Skills behind the success: Leadership Development Course
Shelaine Moldesæter Nilsen, Consulting Manager, recently took part in our Leadership Development course, which is run internally through our Academy. Hear what she had to say:
Which skill or competency have you developed through the Academy?
There were great discussions and reflections throughout the course, and one of the key things I learned was how important collaboration is within a company. Leaders need to work together towards common goals, while at the same time taking care of the individual members of their teams. Strong collaboration strengthens leadership and ultimately makes Columbus a better company.
How have you worked on further developing this skill after the course?
I have become better at “reaching out” to others and sharing more of what I’m working on. We can always learn from each other, and I believe it is important that everyone’s voice is heard within a leadership team. This strengthens the team as a whole and has a positive impact on the consultants we lead.
How does this competency help you today?
It has strengthened my collaboration with the other leaders and made me more conscious of the importance of working together, sharing knowledge and learning from each other.
