Employee stories: From Consulting Manager to Sales Manager
-
You don't need to know exactly where you want to be in 3, 5 or 10 years. Be curious now and then, and then let that curiosity lead you forward.

My journey at Columbus
I joined Columbus in 2019 when I moved from Stockholm to Jönköping, and I’ve been part of the Digital Commerce business area ever since.
I’ve always worked closely with digital business. I joined Columbus because I wanted to be part of a strong, relevant company with skilled people. Meeting colleagues and customers in person is something I value highly.
I started in a combined role as a consultant, salesperson, and consulting manager. It was an intense and enjoyable time, with much of my work focused on customers and on leadership responsibilities.
After a few years, I realised I wanted to focus more on sales and business development, so I chose to step away from the management role. For me, sales and consulting go hand in hand. I enjoy the interaction between sales and delivery, and I value the opportunity to learn from talented colleagues.
The variety and chance to dive into different customer challenges are what make the role especially rewarding.
What helps me succeed
For me, curiosity, empathy, and enjoyment at work are essential to succeeding and developing.
My responsibility today is to identify and describe customer needs and to convince them that Columbus can solve them better than anyone else. It’s classic sales, simply put.
When we succeed as a team, we gain the customer’s trust, time, and budget, the three things we need to create something truly great together.
My final thought
My journey has shown me that there’s no ready-made template for development. It’s about staying curious, daring to change direction, and making the most of encounters with people.
Whether you’re new to Columbus or have been here for a long time, I hope you’ll let curiosity and commitment guide you forward.
