Sr. Project Manager, D365 Practice
The Sr. Project Manager at Columbus provides a high degree of leadership to the project team, serving to facilitate the activities that meet the project objectives both on-time and on-budget. In this opportunity you will be responsible for ERP project plan creation and management, scope adherence, activity planning and facilitation, budget planning and reporting, project staffing, client relationship management, risk management, and reporting.
This is a remote opportunity and can be based from any location in the United States. #LI-Remote.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide senior, enterprise level, project management leadership for all project implementation activities, go-live, upgrade or major enhancement “projects”
- Provide high degree of leadership for all assigned projects, ensure project management planning and status review processes are completed with regularity each week and PM deliverables are kept current
- Ensure project team follows Columbus Methodology and is producing deliverables to standards and on schedule. Educate project team members and clients on methodology as needed.
- Participate in weekly resource planning with other PMs and management to get resources assigned to project tasks in an efficient manner to use available resources
- Act as customer advocate, ensuring a project’s approach and deliverables are focused on meeting the client’s most critical objectives
- Review and understand the contractual terms and scope of assigned projects
- Conduct both an Internal Project Kickoff meeting and a Client Project Kickoff meeting
- Review key deliverables to assure scope and budget remain aligned
- Hold weekly status meetings and create progress/issues report
- Draft and communicate change orders and letters of engagement as necessary.
- Maintain the Project Plan using Microsoft Project
- Ensure Tasks, Time and Expense entry is being completed in system
- Communicate key dates, risks, and impediments to all project stakeholders and create regular progress reports for consumption by C-level client executives
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project
- Create and maintain detailed project and resource plans using Microsoft Project
- Ensure project setup, time, and expense entry are recorded properly
- Perform time and expense reviews
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Skill Requirements & Experience:
- 8+ years project management experience working on complex, enterprise-level engagements, ERP deployments is required.
- Experience in managing multiple Enterprise-size projects, implementing Microsoft Dynamics ERP (AX and/or D365) solutions is required
- Prior implementation and consulting experience with ERP enterprise systems is required
- BA/BS in MIS, Computer Science, Accounting or equivalent is highly desirable
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems as they relate to effective and efficient business processes
- Thorough knowledge of all major project management activities, including risk assessments
- Experience aligning project deliverables and customer expectations using Microsoft Project
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
- Coaching and/or mentoring experience with excellent presentation skills
- Budget management and reporting experience for mid to large enterprise projects
- Experience in project estimation and SOW writing/editing
- Experience working with global project teams
- Proven technology skills with project collaboration and management applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint and Project.
